Wot, no meat?

Hazel:
A gluten-free and vegan bag of ingredients to entertain guests on a special diet. Hmmmm. Even the shopping was a bit challenging - I found myself standing in a bemused stupor in the supermarket at lunchtime wondering what I could get that 1. would comply with the requirements and 2. wouldn't make Henrik any more sceptical about the exercise than he already looked. However, I did, after some unproductive faffing around, find quinoa, soy yogurt and soy cream. That seemed a bit mean, particularly to our guests, so I went into a local organic shop on the way home and picked up some buckwheat and sweet potato Japanese style noodles (such things exist, I'm not kidding), tofu and seaweed. Finally, to make the whole thing less terrible, I ran down to the greengrocer on Malibran and got avocado, yellow and red pepper, round courgette, lemons, strawberries and mango.  I was going to get gelatine to enable some kind of pannacotta dessert to be made, but stopped myself with a vague memory that gelatine is made from horses.  Hmmm, it's not easy being green, as Kermit would have said.
